Every Child Deserves a Chance to Play
I am a single mother of three boys. I would like to thank the foundation for their help by giving my son a scholarship to play baseball this year in our favorite Cal Ripken League. It has been a very difficult time for me and my children with this economy. I would have never been able to tell my son he couldn't play baseball. It has taught him how to appreciate what he has in his life. I am most grateful to the foundation for all their help and hope it will continue for the years to come for children who love to play baseball. Deepest thanks ten times over.

My son absolutely LOVES playing baseball. Since he started three years ago, he refuses to play anything else! For the past couple years, our family like many families, has been suffering financially…I learned of the EGYSF through our regular baseball league, when I inquired about a scholarship for my son this year. It was just too difficult to pay the registration fees, and I thought that maybe my son wouldn't be able to play. I was devastated, because I didn't want my son to be punished because of the difficulty I was having financially. Baseball actually helps him do better in school. As busy as he is during baseball season...he gains focus, and his already good grades get better! He has been the recipient of an Academic All American Award for the past two years in a row. After EGYSF approved my son's scholarship...we were SO OVERJOYED and THANKFUL!! The season has started, and my son is doing GREAT!! His team has won both of their games so far, my son has pitched two straight strike-out innings, and hit two triples!!! He is having a BLAST... and we have all of you to thank for it!! Thank you so much EGYSF...we appreciate all your help more than you will ever know!!

I would like to take this opportunity to thank you in regards to the scholarship provided to my son. Our family has been affected greatly by these tough economic times but with the help of your foundation my son was able to start his first T-ball season! Due to our situation I feel that my children have been unable to participate in costly activities but once again thanks to Elk Grove Youth Sports Foundation my very deserving child is able to enjoy being a kid! I would like to also thank an individual affliated with the foundation by the name of Teresa. She was so prompt in responding to my email! We talked on the telephone and Teresa was so friendly, helpful and really made my experience very positive! I could honestly go on and on about her! Once again thank you very much!

My parents and I are very appreciative of the opportunity you have given me. I have a passion for lacrosse, and I would not have been able to play this season without your help. I aspire to play many more years of lacrosse, and I am happy to say that, with the help of your organization, I am able to continue participation in the sport that I love. Because of the wonderful generosity of the Elk Grove Youth Sports Foundation, my grandchildren were able to play [sports] this last spring. If it weren't for the scholarships they would not have been able to enjoy all the benefits of being part of a team and a league that thrives on being there for the kids. [They] have enjoyed their learning and playing time, expanding their knowledge in a sport the both love. They also benefited from developing new friendships and continuing old ones. My husband became a number in the outlandishly high layoff stat in May 2009. In November of that year, Spring registration for youth sports were under way. Still without a job, we notified our Lacrosse Clubs President of our hardship. With our 3 children all wishing to play Lacrosse, the cost was more then we could handle. Our prayers were answered when the reply was returned to us with a link attached about EGYSF: Scholarships…I immediately filled out the application for all three of our kids. A short time later I asked the Lacrosse President if he had heard anything regarding the scholarship and he happily informed me that he had already deposited the check! Thank you EGYSF for your assistance in allowing mine and many more children, the possibility to play sports when the chips are down!
